Finance
CSV export & DATEV
Under Finance → CSV export you download every payment and refund in a period as a CSV file — cash included. It's the list you hand to your bookkeeper or tax adviser. There's no DATEV / GoBD export at the moment.
Exporting
Pick From and
To — the current month up to today is
preselected — and click Download CSV.
The file is named, for example, Payments_2026-07-01_2026-07-31.csv. Both fields
are required, both days count, and a period can span 1825 days (about 5 years) at most —
five full calendar years with a leap day are 1826 days, one day too many. If the period
doesn't fit, no download starts; a message appears at the field concerned.
From and To are calendar days where your business is, in the time zone from your settings. A payment just after midnight on the first of the month belongs to the new month — even if it was still the day before in UTC.
What's in the file
One row per money movement in the period, in date order:
- Payments — everything your clients paid through Stripe (payment links, booked sessions, offers, packs, memberships, vouchers sold), and every cash payment you recorded yourself.
- Refunds — every refund that was actually paid out, as negative amounts.
Not in the file: open, cancelled or expired payment requests (no money moved), redeeming a voucher (the money came with the voucher sale), Stripe fees and payouts to your bank account — and your own TrainerFoundry subscription.
The columns are always the same, in this order: Date, Type, Client, Product, Payment method, Gross, Currency, Invoice number, Reference. Type is payment or refund, payment method is Stripe or cash. Every amount is gross, refunds negative — the file carries no net amount, no VAT/GST, no tax rate and no tax scheme. Added up, the Gross column is exactly the Balance on the Finance overview for the same period.
The Invoice number is the number of the invoice Stripe issued in your name for the payment — for a refund, the number of its credit note. The cell stays empty when there's no document, say for a cash payment without the automatic invoice for cash payments; the payment still counts in full. For refunds, Reference names the invoice number of the payment refunded or, when that payment has none, "Payment of" and its date. The tax inside a payment is on its invoice.
The file is written in your language: in English with commas between columns, a decimal point and dates like 2026-07-31; in German with semicolons, a decimal comma and dates like 31.07.2026.
A tool, not bookkeeping
TrainerFoundry isn't bookkeeping or point-of-sale software. The CSV export lists what went through Stripe and what you recorded yourself as cash — it has no journal entries, no accounts, no booking batch and no tax amounts. You remain responsible for your books, for receipts — especially for cash — and for your tax; the figures are no basis for your tax return and don't replace a review by you or your tax adviser.
DATEV / GoBD export
The DATEV / GoBD export isn't available at the moment. Give your tax adviser the CSV file and check with them directly what form they need the data in.
